Opposite Kure Beach, this straightforward hotel is 3 miles from the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and a 3-minute walk from the Kure Beach Fishing Pier.
The basic, unfussy rooms feature flat-screen TVs and minifridges; 2-room units add kitchens, and some have separate living areas with pull-out sofas and/or private balconies with sea views.
Amenities include an outdoor pool with a sundeck, and a children's splash pool. There's also a picnic area with BBQ grills, a coin-operated laundry and free parking.
We chose this resort because it had very high reviews, was within walking distance of many things, and includes gourmet breakfast. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We loved the happy hour, beach pass, and picnic basket breakfast.
